Aran Quinn

I'm the CD at Nah. Since 2019, I have been creating illustrations for aparel, accessories, skateboards, and homeware goods. I also take part in art-directing photography shoots, and creative-directing live-action commercials.

Nah is an independent, Irish, eco-conscious company founded by myself and my brother, Dylan Quinn. We focus on making sustainable apparel, bespoke homeware goods, and skateboards.

Dylan, living in Dublin, and I, living in Brooklyn, wanted to stay connected and build a local Irish shop showcasing our illustrative view on life.

Dylan is the MD of Nah and had the idea of collaborating together. We believe in slow fashion, making products in an ethical way, and making garments that are built to last.

Saying yes too many times in a row to jobs you cannot creatively lead without leaving room for pure passion projects can suck the joy out of creating.

Hence why, we gave the company the name Nah. It is about not taking yourself too seriously, having a laugh, and saying, ‘Nah f**k saying yes to that, we're gonna do us for a bit’. Nah, it is a creative, safe place!

By collaborating with an impressive roster of Irish creatives living across Dublin, New York, and London—including photographers Rich GilliganCáit FaheyDaragh Soden, filmmaker Albert Hooi, director Sam Mulcahy, musician Ryan Quinn, and designer Rory Simms —the fully independent and amorphous brand aims to seasonally release playful products spanning apparel, accessories, and home goods inspired by the things Dylan and I love most. Think art, music, skateboarding, nature, animals, romance, cheekiness.

I came up with this concept and made an animatic for this launch video. My Cousin, Sam Mulcahy then directed it and starred in it. Albert Hooi did the DP. Sam, Dylan, Kim Atkinson, and m produced it.

The sound track is a contemporary interpretation of an old Irish Traditional song by,

One of the dreams I had as a kid came true- To create designs for skateboards :)

Below is the full length skate video Dylan Quinn directed and filmed with the Irish-based skaters we repped.

They have animations scattered throughout along with music The Sleaze, Ryan and Dylan Quinn's band created.

Here are some of the ceramic designs I made. We collaborated with a ceramist in Portugal, Alex da Silva, to make my designs in stoneware clay.

Our ceramic flower incense holder takes a trip from Brooklyn to Lisbon to Dublin.

Here's a look at the process from behind the scenes.
